As CEO of a growing startup Mario is responsible for:
- Strategic direction of the company
- Product direction
- Presenting our vision to our customers and investors
- Supporting everybody in the team in anyways I can, being it tuning sales presentations, discussing software design trade-offs, or buying food
- Making sure the execution of our products is excellent

In the past, Mario worked as PhD researcher and Post-Doctoral researcher at KULeuven - Belgium, studying how to create software architectures for safe and autonomous systems.

Before moving to Belgium Mario led a team in Brazil creating SAAS solutions for business administration for large companies such as Mitsui group Japan.

IVEX is pushing the boundaries of safe autonomy by supporting companies to create the safest vehicles on earth. At IVEX, we believe traffic accidents belong to the past, and we work hard to achieve this. We develop tools and embedded software to both validate and guarantee the safety of autonomous vehicles, designed to advance the overall safety and to bring autonomy faster to the road. Our Safety Analytics is a cloud-based solution that identifies critical and edge-case events in large datasets of recorded or simulated driving data that has been collected throughout AD/ADAS development. The SA provides data-driven metrics to visualise unsafe behavior and underperforming perception, enabling engineers to improve the system and to gain rapid insights about the evolution of the AD/ADAS system. Our Safety Co-Pilot is an embedded software component that checks and quantifies the risk of a planned trajectory. The co-pilot performs a prediction on the environment and checks the planned trajectory’s conformance to the safety policies (e.g. OEM rulebook, IVEX formal model, etc.). It returns (1) constraints to the motion planner and (2) a measure of risk of the trajectory – resulting in powerful safety advancements for our clients. IVEX provides tool and software components to help our customers move faster as they develop safer and more reliable autonomous systems that are destined to push the future of mobility. The future of transportation will rely on the work we do at IVEX today. As the world shifts to autonomy, the need to address the tremendous problems and safety concerns this technology presents is a critical component to this rapidly emerging technology.
