After his degree in Aeronautics and Aerodynamics at the Hochschule Bremen in October 1999 Lutz Höppner started his career as Engineering Consultant in companies like System Consult, CENIT AG and BERATA. In 2004 he starts building up a Business Unit for ALTRAN, working mainly with Automotive OEM Customers. In the following years until 2017 he has been responsible for Branch offices, acting as Managing Director in China and at last overtook the responsibility as Global Account Manager for the Volkswagen Group. In 2018 he became Managing Director for “CSI Entwicklungstechnik” in Gaimersheim before he joined Automotive Artificial Intelligence (AAI) in April 2020 as Director for Sales and Business Development.

At AAI we are pursuing the mission to „Create a replica of the world“ for automated driving simulation. Since 2017 we are developing highly specialized software tools and simulation services for the development of automated driving functions and autonomous vehicles. With our naturalistic traffic simulation, it is possible to test automated driving algorithms based on long-haul test drives in simulation (endurance test). The test results will uncover unforeseen edge cases as well as indicate the robustness of the algorithms under test. On the other hand, scenario-based testing in simulation is the most suitable procedure for executing huge bulks of known test cases. With our AAI Scenario Cloning services, we extract and script scenarios observable in real-world test drive sensor recordings via our highly automated pipeline. These scenario files can be used for regression testing and allow test automation for the identification of critical thresholds for validation with road tests.
