While the use of next generation radars promises to further progress object detection and environment understanding due to high resolution data, there are still several challenges that we need to overcome. The presentation will address the most important aspects, including the quality of data, the various safety issues, e.g. with regard to adverse weather driving or uncertainty estimation. It will further address the three main challenges and outline respective solution approaches, including AI models for radar data, structured noise in radar data and sensor fusion. In this session, you will learn more about
Arvind Srivastav is Software Engineer at Zoox, Inc., where he leads research and development projects focused on radar perception, early sensor fusion, and navigation under adverse weather conditions. Previously, he led the development of an advanced underground imaging radar system in Cleveland, Ohio.
